It seems like there’s always something I need poster board for, especially since I have a school-aged kid, so it made sense to request this set of 22×28” poster board sheets.The full pack feels relatively heavy when you lift it, and I think that bears out with the quality of the paper. It’s nice and thick, and feels durable. One side is shiny and one is matte, and since it looks nice either way you can just go with whatever best suits the materials you’re using—the matte side absorbs more easily and is helpful for more liquidy inks. There was some roughness at some edges which is more visible on the matte side, but it’s not that noticeable when you’re standing further away from it.I needed to use a sheet to get a sense of the scale of a little maze amusement I’m creating for a celebration for the younger kids at my daughter’s school, and it was very helpful to get a better sense of what I was working with. I also found it easy to cut the paper; I didn’t have any issues with the paper tearing as I went along.I used the scraps to check some of the pens and markers I had on hand, using the same materials on both the front and back. It was impressive to see that nothing bled through, not even the Sharpie. Though most people probably wouldn’t want to rely on a ballpoint pen or pencil to get their message across on a poster, it is helpful to lay down the groundwork with them and I liked that I wasn’t left with grooves on the other side of the paper. Of course a pencil will still leave grooves on the side you’re writing on if you mark it too hard, but that’s normal for any paper. I ran them both briefly under the faucet, which of course washed away the water soluble inks, but the paper itself held up very well and didn’t get immediately soaked (though I imagine longer exposure in harsh conditions would take its toll).I think this set is well worth a purchase, especially if you often need larger sheets. It’s hard for me to speak to the price because the set I received for review has 50 sheets and it seems the listing is now for 100, but at 65 cents per sheet at the time of this writing I think it’s a great deal compared to what you’d spend buying one at a time.
