British Cycling - the UK governing body for cycle sport. Organise international competitions such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and manages the Great Britain national race teams. Web site a useful source of news and imformation. Road Time Trials Council - RTTC-the organisation involved with administering time trial racing in the UK. Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)- the global governing body for all forms of cycle sport. Manchester Velodrome- the home of British track cycling. Go and watch the GB squad in action or have a go for yourself! www.manchestervelodrome.com The Eastlands Velo club is the youth club at the velodrome and runs a series of sessions each week for young track riders, from novice to advanced. The club has a number of National champions amonst its membership. www.eastlandsvelo.com North West Cyclocross Association - for cyclocross in the North West. We have a vibrant series each year, with youth and senior races, male and female. This is an ideal place for youngsters to start competitive cycling, starting as soon as they can ride a bike at around 4 years of age. www.nwcca.org.uk Sustrans- the UKs leading sustaiable transport charity. Provides lots of support and initiatve for new and experienced cyclists.Promotes the national cycle network that has created some fantastic car free trails for cyclists and walkers. Cycle Scheme- a source of imformation on government tax breaks for cyclists and their employers. Transport 2000- an independant body that aims to reduce the environmental and social impact of transport. Why Cycle?- a really informatve website offering all sorts of advice on cycling and buying bikes. The National Byway-promotes cycling allong some of Britains heritage routes.
